VACANCY:

STEEL YARD MANAGER: PRETORIA

A Steel Yard Manager vacancy has arisen at a Pretoria Yard. We are looking for a motivated, hard-working & willing individual to join the Pretoria Yard operations team.

Responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:

-         Responsible for daily operation, planning and managing of the yard

-         Ability to negotiate with clients

-         Confident in resolving conflict situations in a calm manner

-         Reconcile daily intake and despatches of all material

-         Lead and manage a team in order to achieve operational requirements

-         Ensure Company policies and procedures as well as Health & Safety regulations are adhered to

-         Ensure that the Branch and all buyers comply with the Second-hand Goods Act

-         Maintain excellent customer relations

 

Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:

 

-         An in depth knowledge of ferrous and non ferrous metals

-         A Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management/supervisory position

-         Good administrative and numeracy skills and organising abilities

-         Must be conversant in English and Afrikaans

-         Computer literacy in Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook

-         Minimum matric or equivalent senior certificate

-         A valid, unendorsed driver's license plus roadworthy vehicle available to be used at work

-         A good knowledge of the second hand goods act is an advantage

-         Good working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

-         Be available to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime

Standard hours

07:00 - 16:45 Monday - Thursday

07:00 - 14:00 Friday

May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements
