VACANCY:

QUALIFIED WELDER

Large National scrap metal processing and trading company requires a committed, hardworking and motivated individual to join their Engineering Department. This position is based in Elandsfontein - Gauteng.

Responsibilities:

- Perform a wide variety of welding work

- Assisting in the maintenance of machinery and equipment and the installation of new machinery and equipment

- Supervision may be exercised over a small number of assistants

- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures

Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:

- Matric + Tertiary qualification or previous experience in a similar position

- A welding qualification from an accredited institution is required

- 3-5 years minimum experience in a similar operational environment

- Extensive knowledge of various power tools

- Enjoy technical activities

- Strength to handle materials & tools

- Good hand-eye coordination

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team

- Knowledge of Health and Safety Rules

- Ability to work under challenging conditions

- Must not have fear of heights

- Willingness to work overtime when required as well as travel between branches or to operational sites

- In good health, (physically fit)

- Good communication skills

Type	Permanent after probation period
Standard hours	07:00 - 17:00 Monday - Thursday 07:00 - 14:00 Friday May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements
Benefits include	Provident fund (savings and risk) 15 days leave per annum
