A Scrap Metal company in the Southern Suburbs is in search of four Scale Buyers. We are looking for motivated, hard-working & energetic individuals to join the operations team.
The job will entail the following responsibilities:
- Assist Non Ferrous Supervisor
- Ensure that assistants thoroughly inspect scrap to be purchased and display same openly for photographing
- Ensure that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying scrap by accurately recording all information required under the Act
- Ensure that captured information and photo graphs is correct
- Sorting and Grading of ferrous and non ferrous material
- Accurately weigh customers metals offered for purchase
- Identifying stolen and inferior material
- Motivate team
- Issuing and control of loyalty cards and verifying sellers details as on file
- Updating customer information
- Ensure metal purchased is secured immediately after purchase and not bought again
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
- An excellent knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans
- Good computer operating skills
- Good organizing and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly & well under pressure
